Treason started in 1988 when John Seaton, singer with underground thrash act APOCALYPSE, joined the original line-up. They went on to tour extensively and were very busy on the circuit at the time working alongside other British thrash metal acts like Slammer, Xentrix and Onslaught. Treason also supported name acts like Neurosis, Warrior Soul, Gwar and Bad Brains. They never secured a record deal but built up quite a decent following around the country. The band changed its name to ASHES TO ASHES in 1992 before finally splitting after a year or so. Some of the line up went on to form PULKAS who were signed briefly to Noise records at that timeJohn re-surfaced in 2004 with a new project called EGO PRIME, featuring musicians from HAWKWIND and STRAY. The band only gigged a couple of times, but did record an album, although he was disappointed with the results. Logistical problems led to the band dissolving within a year or so and then John decided to resurrect the TREASON name. John found, (at last!) the right men for the job! - STEVE REDDIHOUGH from cult punk/rock 'n' roll band THE MACHINES stepped in on bass, and DANNY ROWE (drums) who formerly worked with London space rock act PEYOTE MOTHERSHIP completed the line up - Treason went straight into the studio upon formation to record a 12 track album using material from the aforementioned Ego Prime album, plus songs written in the original Treason days. De-tuned, re-worked and much heavier. At the moment this album is available from all download sites, from the band directly at live gigs, or from our website, although of course, a multi-million dollar recording and distribution deal is right around the corner!
We hope you'll soon be there to check us out live, and find out why The Hatfield Forum said: "TREASON have been embraced by the worldwide press as 'delivering the rock voice of the millennium'" www.treasonband.com
